Omnissa Strengthens its Platform with IT Consolidation and Open Ecosystem Flexibility to Give Customers More Choice and a Better Experience

With enhanced AI and automation capabilities, Workspace ONE and Horizon advance IT toward proactive, autonomous workspaces

Omnissa ONE 2025 - Omnissa, a leading digital work platform company, today announced a series of new platform innovations across Workspace ONE and Horizon and new integrations with Nutanix and NVIDIA. These new enhancements reinforce the company’s broader mission to help organizations simplify IT workflows, elevate the employee experience, and extend the value of existing technology investments through a robust, open platform ecosystem.

“Our customers are focused on outcomes, not tools, and that means enabling the 'jobs to be done' with agility and precision,” said Bharath Rangarajan, senior vice president of products and technology alliances at Omnissa. “By giving IT teams an integrated, and open platform to manage across any user, app, device, or cloud, we’re enabling organizations to adapt to the way people work, not the other way around. These updates are a step forward in our vision of building an autonomous workspace that is centered around enhancing the human experience – for both IT teams and employees.”

IT consolidation and centralized management

IT teams face mounting demand from business leaders to control costs, reduce complexity, and consolidate systems, even if it means they can’t integrate their best of breed solutions. Addressing these concerns, Omnissa is strengthening its platform with deeper management and security integrations, extending support for additional mission-critical endpoints and giving customers the flexibility they need to protect their current investments.

  • New Server Management with Workspace ONE: Workspace ONE Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) now extends cloud-native modern management to Windows Server OS to unify all endpoints – including mobile, desktop, virtual – on a single platform. With the new Workspace ONE Server Essentials offering, currently in limited availability, IT teams have full lifecycle management for onboarding, configuration, server apps and updates, inventory tracking, and remote support. This unified approach can help IT teams reduce costs, simplify operations, and strengthen security, while delivering a full range of server management capabilities at a lower cost than legacy server management tools.
  • Next-gen Windows management on Workspace ONE: Omnissa has completely rearchitected the Windows management capabilities to shift away from OMA-DM to a next-gen “agent-based” approach while retaining the industry-leading depth of support it offers. With the new architecture, Workspace ONE runs independently alongside existing PC management tools, allowing organizations to move apps, profiles, and policies at their own pace and establish their own path to cloud-native Windows management. This makes it easier for customers to transition from traditional PC lifecycle management, which can contain hidden costs, to cloud-native management without disruption or lock-in. General availability is planned for later this year.
  • Same-day Apple platform support: Through direct integration of Workspace ONE into Apple’s GitHub, Omnissa now ensures same-day support for new Apple operating systems, giving IT immediate access to the latest OS features the moment they are released. The company has accelerated support for Apple platforms with hundreds of Apple DDM configurations and profile payloads now available across iOS, macOS, iPadOS, and visionOS. This includes the general availability of some of the most requested features such as Software Update Enforcement, Managed Device Attestation, and Platform SSO integration with Apple Business Manager and Managed Apple IDs.
  • Modern printer and peripheral management: Omnissa is providing more support for frontline workers by standardizing on the MQTT protocol to support IoT and machine-to-machine interactions, starting with Zebra printers and devices and expanding to other OEM peripherals. Mission critical devices such as handheld printers, POS systems, and smart peripherals can now be integrated into Workspace ONE Intelligence for proactive detection, analytics, and automation. Customers who are licensed for frontline worker use cases in Workspace ONE can reduce costs by eliminating niche tools and consolidating device management within the Omnissa platform, without upsell charges. This feature will be available in beta this year.
  • App Volumes Manager for physical devices now general availability: App Volumes Manager support for physical endpoints is now generally available, making Omnissa the only provider to deliver full application lifecycle management across both virtual and physical Windows desktops. With application layering technology and “Apps on Demand,” App Volumes enables real-time app delivery to users and reduces operational complexity of traditional app and image management, while ensuring a secure seamless experience for users.
  • Onboarding Workflows: The new Onboarding Workflows powered by Freestyle Orchestrator – the no-code automation service in the Omnissa platform – shifts the focus from devices to user, enabling IT teams to deliver personalized, context-aware experiences from Day 0. By moving beyond rigid device-centric processes, IT can streamline app configuration, security policies, and setup tasks – reducing manual effort and accelerating time-to-productivity. This helps reduce costs by saving IT time while eliminating reliance on legacy provisioning tools that offer limited scalability across different device types.

Employee experience at the center of IT

As distributed work environments become the norm, delivering consistent employee experiences has emerged as a top business priority for organizations. Today’s updates help IT move beyond reactive support, using AI-powered insights and proactive management to deliver more consistent, seamless digital work experiences.

  • Digital employee experience (DEX) for Horizon: Customers looking to enhance their virtual desktop experiences can take advantage of now generally available Experience Management capabilities for Horizon, which include log-on times and last-mile network telemetry monitoring, AI-powered guided root cause analysis to resolve common VDI issues faster, and software metering to reduce license costs and optimize images. For on-premises customers who are not cloud-connected and don’t want the added cost of niche DEX monitoring tools for VDI, Omnissa is introducing Omnissa Monitor, with limited availability this year, which delivers unified monitoring across on-premises Horizon pods, operational insights, and automated remediation through ITSM integrations.
  • DEX Playbooks and QuickFlows: With Experience Management Playbooks now generally available, IT teams can use AI-recommend remediation actions, predict outcomes, and continuously refine Playbooks with closed-loop feedback. Building on this, the new QuickFlows feature introduces automated remediation actions that can be run on-demand against selected groups of devices, directly from a dashboard or a Playbook. Together, Playbooks and QuickFlows help resolve issues faster and more consistently, reducing mean time to resolution and improving the employee experience.

Extending value through an open ecosystem

Through its open platform, Omnissa continues to grow a partner ecosystem that brings together the best in EUC innovation. These partnerships give customers more choice in how and where they run virtual desktops and applications, while maximizing EUC investments.

  • Horizon on Nutanix AHV: With Omnissa Horizon running on the Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure solution with the Nutanix AHV hypervisor, organizations can deploy virtual desktops and applications on Nutanix’s modern hypervisor for both on-premises and hybrid environments. The integration streamlines delivery of secure, high-performance experiences, combining Nutanix’s cloud-like infrastructure with Horizon’s app delivery and lifecycle management, while giving IT greater flexibility, simpler operations, and seamless management across hybrid and multi-cloud environments, with general availability planned later this year.
  • Support for NVIDIA Blackwell: Customers can now use NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs and NVIDIA RTX PRO Servers, along with NVIDIA virtual GPU (vGPU) software and Omnissa Horizon to reduce costs through greater workload density for maximum scale and support a wide range of VDI use cases running on virtual GPUs – from knowledge workers to AI developers. Later this year, Horizon will add support for industry-first encoding capabilities to further enhance performance for Blast-powered VDI.
  • Platform9: Omnissa continues to expand Horizon Cloud deployment options utilizing its new OpenStack provisioning engine. Additionally, by combining the proven Horizon Cloud desktop-as-a-service platform with Platform9’s Private Cloud Director, the solution gives enterprises a modern foundation for delivering virtual desktops and applications on private cloud infrastructure. IT teams gain the deployment choice, high availability, live migration, and the operational consistency they depend on while unlocking greater flexibility to evolve their infrastructure strategy. The solution will be available as preview later this month.

“In today’s hybrid work world customers demand flexibility without complexity,” said Thomas Cornely, SVP Product Management at Nutanix. “By bringing Horizon to Nutanix AHV, Omnissa and Nutanix are enabling seamless VDI deployment across on-prem, private, and public clouds—delivering consistent user experiences and giving IT greater control across environments.”

From security innovations with CrowdStrike, to digital workspace integrations with IGEL, and infrastructure choice through Nutanix, NVIDIA, and Platform9, amongst others, Omnissa continues to expand the open platform approach to give organizations more choice, greater flexibility, and stronger value from their technology investments.
